Shaykh ibn ‘Uthaymeen [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:
“There are three days of celebration (‘Eid) in Islām: ‘Eid ul-Fitr, ‘Eid ul-Adhā and an ‘Eid which occurs every week, the day of Jumu’ah (Friday).”

Details: ‘Eid ul- Fitr: ‘The Feast of Breaking the Fast’ and is celebrated by Muslims worldwide to mark the end of the blessed month of Ramadān.
‘Eid ul-Adhā: ‘The Festival of Sacrifice’, it honours the willingness of Ibrāheem عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم to sacrifice his son Ismāeel عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم as an act of obedience to Allāh’s command. ‘Eid ul-Adhā follows the completion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, at the time of sacrifice.
