WHO IS A MALLAM?

*WHO IS A MALLAM?*

Mallam is a Hausa term derived from the Arabic muʿallim with the meaning “teacher”, formerly used to designate a man versed in the Arabic language and Islamic sciences to whatever extent. The tasks of a malam is to impact knowledge on others
It's highly unfortunate when people now begin to attribute mallams to soothsayers. Day in day out you see people with Talismans all over their bodies claiming that they are mallams and can help solve people's problems for them. The destiny of a man lies not in the hands of any Mallam but on the God who created you and that mallam.
Such an act is not Islam and has been condemned entirely in Islam. Allah is the knower of the unseen not an individual who can't even solve problems in his own household neither to talk of others.
To my dear Christians, fellow Moslems, people of different faith let's all remember that we all serve the same God and join hands to condemn that act. It has no justification what so ever in the Holy Quran. We as Moslems stand to disassociate ourselves from that.
If you see a friend request on facebook from such people, please ignore. They are into business nothing else.
Thank you.
