🌹Taking Measures To Arrange Or Schedule Pregnancies
Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Sālih Al-‘Uthaymīn رحمه الله said:
“As for using something to prevent pregnancy, it is of two types:
The First: It permanently prevents it. This is not permissible, because it hinders pregnancy and minimizes offspring, and this is in opposition to the objective of the legislation (increasing the Islamic Ummah). Also, one isn't safe from their current children dying off, thus leaving her barren with no children.
The Second: That which prevents it temporarily. Such as the woman who gets pregnant often, and the pregnancies are cumbersome upon her, so she wants to arrange the pregnancies to be once every two years or something similar. This is permissible; with the condition that her husband permits her and it doesn't contain harm upon her. The evidence is that the companions would practice coitus interruptus during the time of the Prophet ﷺ in order that their wives would not get pregnant, and he did not prohibit them from doing so.”
