*5 Minute Madessa for the 13th of Dhul Hijjah*
(1) *Islaamic History*
💚 Imaam Abul Hasan Ali Ash’ari (RA)
Imaam Abul Hasan Ash’ari (RA)was from the progeny of the famous Sahabi Hadhrat Abu Moosa Ash'ari (RA). There was a sect during his time called the Mu’tazila, who were regarded as intelligent people and who had a great influence amongst the academics of the land. Their opinions were mostly based on logical deductions and it became fashionable amongst the masses to follow them. Their ideologies caused tremendous chaos and deviation amongst the people and it was to eradicate their disastrous influence that Allaah selected Imaam Abul Hasan (RA). He opposed their false beliefs and made a concerted effort to attend their gatherings and convince them of the truth. When people asked him why he took the trouble to engage with these people of Bid'ah, he would reply, “If I do not go to them, how will the truth become apparent and how will they know that there is someone to defend the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa'ah and to substantiate their beliefs?” He thus continued to disprove their beliefs until they were weakened and unable to exert their influence. He passed away in Baghdad in the year 324 A.H.
(2) *Allaah’s Power*
💚 The ability to defend
Allaah has granted every creature the natural ability to defend itself. Bulls, goats, and oxen have been given horns to defend themselves. Wild animals such as deer and buffaloes have also been given horns with which they are able to ward off attacks from even predatory animals. It is a sign of Allaah’s great power that He has taught all creatures various methods by which they are able to fend for themselves.
(3) *A Fardh*
💚 Believing that Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was the final Nabi
Allaah states in the Qur'aan, “He (Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam)) is Allaah’s Rasool and the seal of all Ambiyaa (after whom there shall never come another Nabi)”.
[Surah Ahzaab, verse 40]
It is Fardh (obligatory) to believe that Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) is the final Nabi, after which no other will come to this world.
(4) *A Sunnah*
💚 Not to recline while eating
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “I never recline while eating.”
[Bukhaari 5398, from Hadhrat Abu Juhfa (RA)]
Reclining while eating without a valid excuse conflicts with the Sunnah.
(5) *An Important Act and its Virtue*
💚 The blessings of Istighfaar
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “When a person seeks forgiveness regularly, Allaah will ease every hardship for him, alleviate his worries and provide sustenance for him from avenues he never anticipated.”
[Abu Dawood 1518, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Abbaas (RA)]
(6) *A Sin*
💚 Disclosing marital secrets
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said that the worst of people in the sight of Allaah on the Day of Qiyaamah will be the person who engages in marital relations with his wife and then discloses the secrets of the relationship with a friend.
[Muslim 3542, from Hadhrat Abu Sa'eed Khudri (RA)]
(7) *This World*
💚 The consequences of amassing the wealth of this world
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “Do not amass wealth because this will cause you to incline towards this world.”
[Tirmidhi 2328, from Hadhrat Abdullaah bin Mas'ood (RA)]
(8) *The Aakhirah*
💚 The bounties of the people with Taqwa
Allaah says in the Qur'aan, “Verily, those with Taqwa shall be (enjoying themselves) in shades (the shade of Allaah’s throne on the Day of Qiyaamah and then the shade of Jannah), springs and the fruit of their choice. (They will be told,) “Eat and drink with all blessings as reward for the deeds you carried out (in the world).” Thus do We reward those who do good. May misery be the end of the rejecters on that day!”
[Surah Mursalaat, verses 41-45]
(9) *Cures from the Qur'aan and Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam)*
💚 Using the Miswaak
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wadallam) said, “The Miswaak cleanses the mouth and pleases Allaah.”
[Nasa'ee 5, from Hadhrat Aa'isha (RA)]
Allaama Ibn Qayyim (RA)writes that the Miswaak gives shine to the teeth, strengthens the gums, expels bad breath, clears the mind, purges phlegm, strengthens the eyesight and clears the voice.
[Tibbun Nabawi]
(10) *Qur'aanic Advice*
💚Allaah says in the Qur'aan, “O you who have Imaan! Remember Allaah in abundance (at all times) and glorify Him (especially during the) morning and evening”.
[Surah Ahzaab, verses 41-42]
