1. By Al-Asr (refers to the time when people are involved in their matters of livelihood). Allah swears by this part of the day.
2. Verily! Man is in loss.
3. Except those who believe (who believe in the six article of faith - Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth (Nasiha\Admonish) and recommend one another to patience.
