TRUST

TRUST

In The Name Of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.

Brothers and sisters in Islam, our daily reminder today is going to talk about trust.

Trust is very important aspect of man's responsibility. A good Muslim must keep trust and not betray it. If one is the head of a place, those under him are to put in him trust, he should therefore treat them well for Allah shall ask how he has treated them. The same applies to one's wife and children, they are put in one's care and must be taken care of. If a teacher keeps some money for the care of a student, the student should not say that the money is lost, it is trust (Amanah). One may be appointed a trustee of an orphan's property until he grows up, he should carry out his responsibility to the best of his ability because it is amanah which must be discharged. Positions of responsibilities are a trust which must not be abused.

Allah says in the Holy Qur'an:

Surah Al-Ma'idah

Verse 1
──────⊹⊱✫⊰⊹──────

O you who believe! Fulfil your indentures. The beast of cattle is made lawful unto you (for food) except that which is announced unto you (herein), game being unlawful when ye are on the pilgrimage. Verily! Allah ordaineth that which pleaseth Him.

Also the Qur'an states:

 ──────⊹⊱✫⊰⊹──────
Surah An-Nisa'

Verse 58
──────⊹⊱✫⊰⊹──────

Verily ! Allah commandeth you that ye restore deposits to their owners, and, if you judge between mankind, that ye judge justly. Verily! comely is this which Allah admonisheth you. Veril! Allah is ever Hearer, Seer.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The signs of a hypocrite are three:

1. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie.

2. Whenever he promises, he always breaks it (his promise ).

3. If you trust him, he proves to be dishonest. (If you keep something as a trust with him, he will not return it.)"

Sahih al-Bukhari
Book 2, Hadith 26

It is evident that a Muslim must fulfill his obligations because it is a directive from Allah, whatever is put in our care should be taken care of and rendered back to the owner. One who does not keep promises and trusts is not a good Muslin. He who deals with others dishonestly is also not a good Muslim.

May Allah grant us the ability to always keep our trusts and promises, may He, the exalted forgive us our sins and grant us understanding.
