THE HEART IS THE KING OF THE BODY
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه و سلم) said:
*أَلَا وَإِنَّ فِي الْجَسَدِ مُضْغَةً إِذَا صَلَحَتْ صَلَحَ الْجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ ، وَإِذَا فَسَدَتْ فَسَدَ الْجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ أَلَا وَهِيَ الْقَلْبُ*
*_"There lies within the body a piece of flesh. If it is sound, the whole body is sound; and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. Indeed, this is the heart."_*
Ibn Rajab commented upon this hadīth saying:
"For this reason, it is said that the heart is the king of the body parts, and the other limbs and body parts are its soldiers. So they are soldiers who are obedient to him, they are dispatched in his obedience, and they implement his commands. They do not oppose him in any of this. If the king is upright, then his soldiers will be upright; and if he is corrupt, then his soldiers will similarly be corrupt."
