*WHAT IS YOUR INTENTION WHEN YOU READ THE QUR'AN?*
👉1 – By reading the Qur’an we ask Allah that the Qur’an intercedes for us.
‘Read the Qu’raan since indeed it will come on the Day of Judgement interceding for its companions.’Sahih Muslim
👉2 – Intention to gain reward.
‘Whoever read a letter from the Book of Allah then he will receive a reward for it and every good reward is multiplied by ten the like of it’
👉3 –Read with the intention of acting upon every Ayah we read so that we may acquire the highest levels in Paradise.
‘It will be said to the recitor of the Quran, read and ascend [in Paradise] and recite like you used to recite in the Dunya, since indeed your place will be at the last Ayah which you read.’ Collected by Abu Dawood & Tirmidhi
👉4 – Recite the Qur’an as a cure for the sicknesses of our hearts and illnesses of our bodies and a means of mercy descending upon us.
Allah says : وننزل من القرآن ما هو شفاء ورحمة
《And We send down from the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy》[Israa: 82]
👉5 – Recite the Qur’an with the intention of getting guidance from Allah.
Allah says: ((ذلك الكتاب لا ريب فيه هدى للمتقين))
《 This is the Book (the Qur’an), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqeen [the righteous]》[Baqara: 2]
In the Hadeeth Qudsi:
“ياعبادي كلكم ضال إلا من هديته فاستهدوني أهدكم”
‘O My worshippers all of you are astray except for the one whom I have guided, so seek guidance from Me and I will guide you.’ [Collected by Muslim]
👉6- Recite with the intention on finding solution to our problems by understanding the Quran.
👉7 –Recite with the intention to become the people of the Quran
‘Indeed Allah has a certain people from among the people.’
They asked: ‘who are they O Messenger of Allaah?’ He answered: “هم أهل القرآن ، أهل الله وخاصته” ‘They are the people of the Qur’aan, the people of Allah and those special to Him.’ Authenticated by Albaani RA
👉8 – Last but not the least, reciting Quran is an act of worship, and it can become a means of rescue from the fire for the one who memorizes and recites it abundantly.
‘If the Qur’an is gathered in a leather skin covering, then Allah will not burn it with fire.’ Authenticated by Sk. Albaani (رحمه الله)
“Al-Bayhaqī said: It means the one who is carrier of Quran and recites it abundantly will NOT be touched by Hellfire.”
