GIRL PROBLEM ALERT!

GIRL PROBLEM ALERT!
"My monthly visitor just arrived. Now I have to miss fasting. What would I do?"
😣😢😭

Alhamdulillah, ukhtiy it came as expected and is to stay for an average of 7 days a month. You can't help but worry when it skips a month, right? So chill. Thank Allah first for a sound health. 😇

Yes you have to skip fasting during your red days but it doesn't mean you will miss Ramadhan's rewards as well. There are a lot of other things you can do. A lot. I'm telling you.

First,
No fasting may mean long sleep
Dreamy, relaxing, deep
But if I were you, I will wake up for sahoor too
Prepare the food for your family, dormmates or halal beau
Feeding those who intend to fast has a reward
So your sleep during Ramadhan, you should still keep guard.

When you intend to fast, it is expected of you to wake up before fajr and take your suhoor meal. That means less time to sleep. So when red days come may mean more time to sleep. I understand if you want to just snooze off since you are excused. Your eyebags might need to recover from the late nights. But hey ukhtiy, it's Ramadhan. Every second counts. Every deed done in every second is rewarded in multiples. Shake that eyebags problem. You still have 11 months to recover. Instead take advantage of Ramadhan days and nights, because when they're gone it's really over. 😯

Second,
Sawm and Salah are just the two things
You are prohibited from doing
You can still remember Allah in a permissible way
That is through the recitation of adkhar everyday.

Yap! We have loads of dhikr we can recite anytime and anywhere (except in the toilet of course). If people are already praying their Salah then you should stop whatever you are doing too. Replace your salah with loads of adhkar. Or while you are on your way to school or work, make dhikr as well. Instead of complaining for being stuck in the traffic jam, convert these 'wasted' time into a productive one by making dhikr.
Here is a personal list of adhkar. Each set of dhikr won't take you even 5 minutes to make. I hope this can help. 😁 (Btw, Use the folds of your fingers for dhikr since it's the sunnah.)

✅ Recite Fatiha
- Fatiha is the mother of the Qur'an. It's the first surah you can read.

✅ Recite Suuratul Ikhlas (10×)
- This is to build your mansion in Jannah inn shaa Allah. 😍
- Add 3x more, and and as if you have read the entire Qur'an.
Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri reported: The Prophet SAW, “Is it difficult for one of you to recite a third of the Quran in a single night?” That was difficult for them, so they said, “Which one of us can do that, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet said, “Allah, the One, the Master (112:1) is worth one-third of the Quran.” ( Sahih Bukhari 4727)

✅ Laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa billa
- "(There is no Might or Power except with Allah) - [the above is] a treasure from the treasures of Paradise." (al-Bukhari & Muslim)

✅ Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi, adada khaliqihi, wa rida nafsihi, wa zinata 'arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi
- this is a dhikr equivalent to HOURS of making dhikr.
The Mother of the Believers, Juwairiyah bint Al-Harith reported that the Prophet came out from my apartment in the morning as I was busy in performing the dawn prayer. He came back in the forenoon and found me sitting there. The Prophet said,” Are you still in the same position as I left you.” I replied in the affirmative. Thereupon the Prophet said, “I recited four phrases three times after I had left you. If these are to be weighed against all you have recited since morning, these will be heavier. These are:
Subhan-Allah Wa bihamdihi, ‘adada khalqihi, wa rida-a nafsihi, wa zinatah ‘arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi
(Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise, as many times as the number of His creatures, in accordance with His Good Pleasure, equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words (for His Praise).” (Muslim)

✅ Subhanallahi wal hamdulillahi wa laa ilaaha ilallah Allahu akbar.
- (Glory be to Allah, All Praise is for Allah, There is No God but Allah, Allah is the Greatest)

The above are mentioned as the four most beloved words to Allah. It does not matter with which one of them is begun. (Muslim)

✅Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi subhanallahil adheem
- "Abu Hurairah Ra reported: The Messenger of Allah SAW said, “There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the Scales and are dear to the Merciful: `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-Azhim [Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, (and) Allah, the Greatest is free from imperfection)’.”
- [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

✅ Laa ilaaha illaAllah
- the Shahada of course. 😉
"Abu Huraira reported that the Prophet said: "When a servant of Allah utters the words la ilaha illallah (there is no God except Allah) sincerely, the doors of heaven open up for these words until they reach the Throne of Allah, so long as its utterer keeps away from the major sins.” (at-Tirmidhi)

✅ SalAllahu 'Alayhi Wasallam
- greetings for the Rasulullah 💕

✅ Laa ilaaha illalah wah dahu laa shariika la, lahul mulku walahul hamd, yuhyi wayumiitu wa huwa 'alaa kulli shay-in qadiir
Whoever says the above ten times, will have the reward for freeing four slaves from the Children of Isma'il. (al-Bukhari & Muslim)

✅ Astagfirullah
- You will get protection from Allah’s punishment. In Surah Nuh, ayah 10-12, Allah relates the story of Prophet Nuh and how he instructed his people to seek Allah’s forgiveness. If they would just say “astagfirullah,” Allah would sent them rain in abundance, and increase their wealth and children, and give them gardens and rivers in Paradise.

✅ Allahumma innaka 'affuwun tuhibbul afwa fa' fu'anni
- this is a dhirk the Rasul SAW informed A'isha RA to make during laylatul qadr. I asked a local shaykh if it is permissible to make it a daily adkhar, he responded positively.
- This is for seeking the deletion of our sins in the book of account.

✅ Radeetu billahi rabban, Wa bil-Islaami deenan, Wa bi-Muhammadin rasoolan
- Jannat becomes obligatory for the one who Recites the following Abu Sa’id (RA) said that Rasullallah (SAW) said, “Whoever says: Radeetu billahi rabban, Wa bil-Islaami deenan, Wa bi-Muhammadin rasoolan Jannah becomes obligatory for him (to enter). (Abu-Dawud) - Best said in Morning and Evening with "Nabiyan wa rasoolan"

Third,
The Qur'an is for yourself
Not for the shelves.

There are diffences of opinion about the permissibility of reading the Qur'an during the red days. Though reading from the mushaf is absolutely disallowed (except for those studying the Qur'an), reading the words of Allah from our gadgets is allowed by SOME. Nevertheless, reading it may be an issue but listening to it is not. So put those earphones into good use by listening to the verses of the Qur'an by any of your favorite qari'. Just make sure though that you are being attentive of it and are not listening to it just because of how melodious the qari's voice is. Intention matters bigtime, remember that. 😉

Fourth,
Stories of the past is worth the read
Know the Rasulullah's perfect deeds
Understand the wisdom behind prohibitions
Be not a blind follower of Islam, but know it's reasons.

We are in the modern world where everything is just a click a way. If you have a wifi or any source of internet connection, put that into good use by watching Islamic lectures on youtube. Red days isn't unlimited Kdrama days and nights. Please be wise in spending your time. Download applications and pdfs of tafseer of the Qur'an and Islamic books. Just be sure it's authentic because it might spoil your beliefs. Study the Arabic knowledge to understand your deen. Attend your madrasah classes. Your regular fasting days might just be full of reading the mushaf. Now is the time to learn and be amazed with what those words mean.

Fifth,
Symposiums are held everywhere
It might just be you who don't care.

How blessed of us to find daa'i almost everywhere. Reminders and lectures are overflowing so take advantage. These are spoon-feed chances. Attend those and be among those who will be rewarded by Allah. 😊

Sixth,
Anywhere you go, preserve you modesty
Red days don't mean no abaya days
Red days don't mean 'jahil' days.

Did you know that when a Muslimah goes out of her house dressed according to the Islamic rulings (covered awrah: concealed body shape, no skin shown), every creature she passes by (animals, plants, even the waves and the soil) will ask Allah to forgive her sins? Now you know, go grab that jilbab!

Seventh,
Serve your parents
Fix your temperament
Don't make your hormones be an excuse
To be always lazy and furious
If you are just to stay at home
Serving them is one big ibadah alone.

I know when you're on your red days, you really feel grumpy and just want to stay in bed. Well ukhtiy, red and bed may sound the same but they shouldn't jive. Volunteer to do all the chores your mother should have done. Prepare their iftar. You wouldn't just please Allah, your parents would be too. 💕

Eight,
Feed a fasting Muslim
Even just with a water or coffee with cream
Her reward shall be yours too
Not even a fraction, but the whole of it for you.

See? Isn't this amazing? 😆 Buy your bestfriend some thing for her iftar. Nothing to lose but everything to gain! (But this doesn't mean you could just feed a fasting individual instead of observing fasting yourself. This is only applicable in certain cases.)

This ends here. Inn shaa Allah this can help. Ramadhan Mubarak! 😚
