PRAISING ALLAH FIRST BEFORE SEEKING HIS HELP

PRAISING ALLAH FIRST BEFORE SEEKING HIS HELP.

 BismilLah.

It's very disrespectful and not right to just raise our hands seeking help or protection etc from ALLAH without praising HIM first. Even on Earth, we all witness especially in Africa such as Ghana, how chiefs are praised before even talking to them. You cannot just go in front of any Chief and start talking without praising him. In Islam we are thought to First praise ALLAH using HIS names and attributes then send praises to the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam next before even praying for yourself, family and other Muslims.

ALLAH(Al-Alim, The All Knowing, The Omniscient) has described HIMSELF in the Quran through HIS Names and Attributes. We Muslims believe that studying these Names and Attributes is one of the most effective ways of strengthening one’s relationship with ALLAH(As-Sami‘e, The All Hearing). Each Name and Attribute nourishes a kind of consciousness and humility in human and our study leads one to constantly better our actions. ALLAH says in the Quran;
“The most beautiful names belong to HIM, ALLAH(Al-Azeem, The Magnificent, The Infinite): so call on HIM by them.” (Quran, 7:180).

WE Muslims are asked to call upon ALLAH(Al-Ghafoor, The All Forgiving) during OUR supplications by the most appropriate names that relate to what we are asking for. For example, if one is seeking forgiveness from ALLAH (Al-Kabeer, The Great) for a sin you have committed, you would call upon HIM by HIS name “Al-Ghaffar,” meaning “The Ever Forgiving.” If one is asking for peace and tranquility in their life while experiencing a period of tension, we would call on ALLAH (Al-Hafeez, The Preserver) by HIS name “As-Salaam,” meaning “The Ultimate Source of Peace.”

Let's study these names and attributes and use them during our supplication such as Yaa HAYYU yaa QAYYUUM birahmatika Astaqeeth, Oh ALLAH you are the living and maintainer of life so with your mercy I seek your help. Beautiful dua isn't it?. You may have noticed I've been using some of these attributes in my reminders whenever I mention ALLAH so that we can also learn these attributes whilst focusing on our topic as well.

May ALLAH (Al-Muqeet, The Nourisher) keep guiding us all and protect us from any satanic influences. Aameen.
