When A Dead Body
Is Prepared...
A narration has been collected by al-Bukhārī in his Ṣaḥīḥ³, Abū Sa'īd al-Khudri states: "The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: 'When a dead body is prepared, and the men carry it on their shoulders, if the deceased was pious, it will say: 'Take me in haste,' but if he was not, it will say: 'Woe to it. Where are you taking me?' Everything except man hears its voice. If the human being were to hear its voice, he would have surely died.'"
