SEEK FORGIVENESS

```The Noble Companion ‘Abd-Allāh bin Mas’ūd [may Allāh be pleased with him] said:
“Certainly, when Satan sees the son of Ādam prostrating, he screams out: ‘Woe to him! Allāh ordered the son of Ādam to prostrate. He obeyed and will be granted Paradise. He commanded me to prostrate, I disobeyed and will receive the [punishment of the] fire [of Hell].’”
Kitāb az-Zuhd, 1286 | ‘Abd-Allāh ibn ul-Mubārak [may Allāh bestow mercy upon him]
Al-Imām al-Hasan al-Basri [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:
“Be abundant in seeking Allāh’s forgiveness. In your homes; at your table; on your travels; in the market place; in your gatherings. Wherever you may be; for you do not know when the Forgiveness [mercy of Allāh] will descend.”
Shu’ab ul-Ēmān, 647 | Al-Imām al-Bayhaqee [may Allāh have mercy on him]
Abul ‘Āliyyah [may Allāh have mercy on him] said:
“A time will come upon the people wherein there hearts will be devoid and derelict of the Qur’ān. They will find neither sweetness nor acquire any delight by its recitation. If they fall short of performing what they have been commanded to do, they will say: ‘Certainly, Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’ If they commit that which they have been forbidden from doing, they will say: ‘We shall be forgiven, we have not associated any partners unto Allāh.’ Their affairs will be based on covetousness [and false hope], possessing no truth [and no sincerity].”
Kitāb az-Zuhd, 1714 | Al-Imām Ahmad bin Hambal [may Allāh have mercy on him]
