The modern politics today, is about making the world a habitable environment where people can thrive to achieve their communal and individual mundane and religious aspirations.
This is not possible without peaceful coexistence.
And peace can only be delusional if there is no equitable participation of different interest groups, religion inclusive.
Therefore, politics is more than the mare game of numbers. Politics is the game of harmonious integral participation of all numbers.
Because of this misconception many politicians may win elections but fail in providing good governance.
It is does paramount that people put into consideration the nature, the epoch and cultural disposition of electorates in mixed states of indigenous people. Since indigenous people cannot be obliterated therefore, they should be well integrated.
This goes to states like Plateau, Benue, Taraba and kaduna.
Politics in the past has bastardize Religion. Religion was used only as a ladder to gain and sustain power or even suppression.
Allah the Almighty then destroyed the Christendom (the papal authority) and later the caliphates to the present norms, because they became instruments deviated to suppression of the true teachings of God.
To date it’s the same sunnah.
Religion is the most potent weapon of stability, peace and progress yet the most dangerous weapon of destruction and annihilation. It depends on the population and the leaders they elect.
Let good politics and governance service religious ambition of different persuasions ‘lakum deenikum wa liyaddeen’ but not the other way around, i.e religion servicing the political ambition of individuals and interest groups.
May Allah guide us to the right path and bring peace and tranquility to the nation. Amin
