THE BLESSING OF RESETS IN ISLAM

Assalāmu ’alaikum wa Rahmatullāhi wa Barakātuh,

THE BLESSING OF RESETS IN ISLAM

One of the blessings of Islam is that it gives us many opportunities to reset our lives.

We reset daily through the 5 daily prayers.
We reset weekly through Jumu'ah (Friday) prayers and the Monday/Thursday voluntary fasts.
We reset monthly through fasting the three white days of the middle of the Islamic month.
And we reset annually through the four sacred months of Islam and the month of Ramadān.
The power of these resets is that they help us course-correct our lives, especially if we’ve fallen off track. They help us not give up hope if we messed up in the previous hour, day, week, month, or year and not be trapped into a cycle of habits and routines that may lead us to regret.

These moments of resets are potent opportunities to reconnect to our purpose in life - to be an Abd (Slave) of Allah SWT - and make sincere intentions to be a better version of ourselves: spiritually, physically, and socially.

Ramadān is the prime time to make our annual resets by reviewing our previous year and making powerful intentions for the coming year.
