*5 Minute Madressa for the 9th of Dhul Hijjah*
(1) *Islaamic History*
🍂 Hadhrat Junayd Baghdadi (RA)
Hadhrat Junayd (RA)was a saint of the highest calibre and an Imaam in knowledge and recognition of Allaah during the third Islaamic century. His mentor was his maternal uncle Hadhrat Sirri Saqti (RA). When he was just seven years of age, he was asked for the definition of gratitude. He replied, “When a favour is granted, gratitude means never to disobey the command of the benefactor.” Hearing this, the people acknowledged that his speech was truly inspired by Allaah. He completed his studies in Fiqh with Hadhrat Sufyaan Thowri (RA)and was already issuing Fataawaa by the age of 20. He once said, “Never follow a person who has not memorised the Qur'aan and does not write the Ahadeeth of Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) because the foundation of the Deen is the Qur'aan and the Ahadeeth.” Together with being regarded as an Imaam in the knowledge of the Shari'ah, he is also an Imaam in Tareeqah. He stated that he had been granted a high position in Sulook and Ma’rifah because of staying hungry, forsaking worldly pleasures and staying awake in Ibaadah during the nights. He avoided giving lectures. When he was once instructed by Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) in a dream to deliver a lecture, the lecture was so effective that many people accepted Islaam. He was engaged in Dhikr when he passed away on a Friday in the year 297 A.H. He is buried in the graveyard of Shonizia, where Imaam Karkhi (RA)is buried.
(2) *Allaah’s Power*
🍂 The ant
The ant is one of the marvellous creations of Allaah. Their eyes, nose, ears, and minds have been created with meticulous microscopic detail. Even more astonishing is that they are able to think, see, smell, and carry out various other functions with these. They can smell something as far as a mile away and when one finds something, the others are summoned to carry it to their heap. They store food in summer for the winter months and also for the rainy season, knowing exactly when these seasons will be arriving without the aid of any instruments. It is only by the power of Allaah that such tiny creatures possess such profound expertise.
(3) *A Fardh*
🍂 Proceeding to the Masjid for Salaah
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “When a person performs a proper and complete Wudhu and then proceeds to the Masjid for Salaah, Allaah becomes so happy with him just like a family becomes when their family member who has gone far away returns suddenly.”
[Ibn Khuzayma 1411, from Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (RA)]
(4) *A Sunnah*
🍂 Wearing a Kurta
From all garments, Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) best liked to wear the Kurta.

[Muslim 1349, from Hadhrat Ka’b bin Ujrah (RA)]

Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “The woman who applies perfume and then passes by people for them to smell the fragrance is a fornicator and everyone looking at her is also a fornicator.”

(7) *This World*
🍂 Never be preoccupied with worldly matters
Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “The person closest to me on the Day of Qiyaamah will be the one who will emerge from this world as I do. I swear by Allaah that apart from myself, everyone of you will get tangled up in this world in some way or another.”
[Ahmad 20947, from Hadhrat Abu Dharr (RA)]
(8) *The Aakhirah*
🍂 No extremities of heat or cold in Jannah
Allaah says in the Qur'aan, “As a reward for their patience (in this world), they shall have Jannah and (garments and bedding made of the purest) silk. They will recline on couches there (in Jannah) and will feel neither (the discomfort of) heat nor (the misery of) cold”.
[Surah Dahar, verses 12-13]
(9) *Cures from the Qur'aan and Rasulullaah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam)*
🍂 Protection from the evil eye

“Maa shaa’ Allaah laa quwwata illaa billaah”
TRANSLATION: Whatever Allaah Wills, there is no power but with Allaah.
(10) *Qur'aanic Advice*
🍂Allaah says in the Qur'aan, “Say (O Muhammad Sallallahu alaihi wasallam), ‘If you love Allaah then follow me (Muhammad Sallallahu alaihi wasallam), Allaah will then love you (He will reward you and grant you numerous material and spiritual blessings) and forgive your sins. Allaah is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.’”
[Surah Aal Imraan, verse 31]
